Steering System (Rack & Pinion)
In our auto body shop, we do not just do auto and collision
repair. Our mechanics perform the most excellent service that can be done on
your vehicle at an affordable price. They are fully trained to work on today’s
new car technology which is constantly and rapidly changing. The rack and pinion
is fitted in today’s vehicle models. It is found in the steering mechanism of
any type of vehicle. The rack and pinion is enclosed in a metal tube having
its ends coming out from the tube and a tie rod connects to each end of the
rack. The pinion gear is found attached to the steering shaft. When the
steering wheel is turned, the rack moves by the gear’s spin. The tie rod
joins to the steering arm on the spindle. This system mainly has two
functions. It changes the rotational motion of the steering wheel as to have
a more linear motion in the wheels’ turn. It also offers a relatively good feature
in gear reduction thus providing easier wheel turns. This mechanism provides
drivers with better feedback of steering feel especially at high speeds. We are
highly rated on the maintenance we do on cars. Our mechanics and technicians are
able to inspect your power steering pump, hoses, fluid level and the unit itself
as to maintain your car’s steering system at top condition. We work hard to
maintain high quality standards in all our works.
